Review Studies On Bio-Diesel Production From Physic Nut (Jatropha Curcus) Oil

ABSTRACTJatropha curcus belonging to the Family, Euphorbiaceous commonly known as physic nuts.  It is well known herb all over the world.  J.curcas oil is not edible and is traditionally used for manufacturing soap and other  medicinal applications.  It is an alternative fuel for diesel engines. This review is based on focusing on the biodiesel production from the plant Jatropha curcas. Production of Biodiesel from Jatropha curcas seed oil involved  three  steps include  extraction of oil from the seed, acid-catalyzed transesterification, and base-catalyzed transesterification, each of which is well-known and widely-utilized in today’s biodiesel industry The  produced  bio diesel was characterized to obtain its physicochemical parameters such as flash point, pour point, cloud point, viscosity and density. The results obtained from the calculation of the yield of oil extracted revealed 54% of oil could be obtained from the Jatropha seeds used. According to the results, the values obtained from the analysis of the oil especially free fatty acid, density and kinematic viscosity of the oil were found to compare well with the standard (ASTM), which was an indication that the extracted oil was good and suitable for biodiesel production The considered parameters oil content, iodine value, peroxide value, saponification value and acid value. These parameters were done in order to study the oil property of J curcas L which makes the oil most suitable for biodiesel production. In these reveals that biodiesel has become more attractive as an alternative to fossil diesel because of its environmental benefits and the fact that it is made from renewable resource. J. curcas L. is a promising source of biodiesel since its seeds contain high amount of oil and the species has good agronomic traits. A Study On Evaluation of Drug Utilization Pattern in Gynecology Department

ABSTRACTPrescription is one of the most important transaction between the physician and patient. Drug utilization studies are an important tool to estimate disease prevalence, appropriateness of prescriptions and adherence to evidence-based medicine. Drug utilization studies. Rational use of drugs should follow the RIGHT and SANE principles. The main objective of the study is to understand the concept of Drug Utilization during pregnancy and to understand the process for implementing and performing DUE. Also, to examine patterns and factors associated with medications used in pregnancy. Drug utilization plays a major role in implementing health care professional programs. And it can reduce the irrational prescribing patterns. We conducted a single centered observational analysis of adults of pregnant women who are above 18 years prescribed at lalitha super specialties hospital, kothapet, Guntur. Drug utilization during pregnancy is to examine the factors associated with use of medications during pregnancy and improving rational usage of drugs and reducing irrational prescribing patterns. A Total of 71 Patients were enrolled in the present study during the study period. A larger proportion of drugs are prescribed during their 3rd trimesters i.e. 46.99% followed by 2nd and 1st trimesters. The results shows that major classes of drugs that are prescribed during pregnancy are vitamins 26%, Antibiotic 16% and followed by other classes of drugs. This study concludes that rational usage of drugs in gynecological department is essential for the safe and effective therapeutic outcomes. The patient has followed the rational drug use which leads to safe and institutional delivery without any complications. Preliminary Phytochemical Wound Healing Activity of Hibiscus Cannabinusl Seed Aqueous and Ethanolic Extracts

ABSTRACTThe present study was carried out to evaluate preliminary phytochemicals and wound healing activity of hibiscus cannabinus seed of ethanolic aqueous extract. In this study we observed that percentage yield of ethanolic extract was 8.5% w/w and the extract was subjected to TLC analysis and also carried out the estimation of total phenolic and flavonolic content. In this study we observed that no toxic symptoms like behavioral changes, locomotion, convulsions etc. were observed. Also, we calculated the  values. For the conducting wound healing activity we utilized excision and incision wound models. Microbial Analysis of Some Expired Drugs Collected from Local Market of Kalol, North Gujarat Region

ABSTRACTDifferent syrup samples of expired dates were collected from local available outlets of North Gujarat region.  Around 30 samples of drugs were selected for microbial analysis. Sample includes cough syrup, ear drops, eye drops and antibiotic in liquid form etc. while drugs included paracetamol, ofloxacine, paradichlorobenze, cefpodoxime and Levocelirizine in liquid form. Each sample was inoculated in Nutrient broth at 37°C for 24-48 hours. Same samples were also inoculated for fungal growth in Sabouraud dextrose broth  at 28°C for 3-4 days. Samples and all different colonies were studied using morphological and biochemical characteristics. Result concluded presence of   Bacterial sp. including Staphlococcus aureus, S.epidermis,Pseudomonas sp,Bacillus sp., Enterococcus sp.,Microbacterium sp etc. whereas Fungal sp. include  Aspergillus niger,Mucor sp.,Aspergillus sp., Neurospora sp. etc. Keywords: Expired drugs, Bacterial and fungal species, Morphological and biochemical characteristics.
