Acne Treatment by Nanomedicine Approach

with Monika Targhotra, Neha Raina
11/1/2019

Acne is one of the most common disorders that dermatologists and other health care providers treat. Although it most often affects adolescents, it is not uncommon in adults and can also be seen in children.Acne is a tenacious incendiary human skin syndrome, mainly defined at particular areas of skin characterized by microcomedones, comedones, nodules, pustules, itchiness, as well as invasive scar mainly on different parts of the body. Acne is a chronic inflammatory disorder of pilosebaceous unit that occurs for chronic periodas a result of increased sebum production induced by androgen, altered keratinisation, inflammation, and bacterial colonisation of hair follicles on the face, neck, chest, and back by Propionibacterium acnes. Different nano-advancement techniques like vesicular, colloidal drug delivery system have been discussed. These systems can be useful in scheming a novel delivery with low dose treatment for the cure of acne vulgaris. The current review focused on the better nanotechnological system that can be used in future for better and effective treatment of acne.

Nanogel and its Utilization in Cosmeceuticals

with Manisha Sharma, Brijesh Ojha, Azmi Khan
11/1/2019

In global market the demand for cosmeceuticals have shown an appreciable amount of enhancement over the past few years, especially the novel technology is more explored by the researchers as well as the marketers. Nanotechnology provides a wide platform for innovation and variation, the nanocosmeceuticals have shown an amplifiable amount of growth. Nanocosmeceuticals such as nanogels, nanoemulsions, liposomes, niosomes, solid lipid nanoparticles etc. have been used widely due to targeted delivery of the active ingredient, modification in shape, size, colour, penetration into the skin, controlled release delivery of the actives and much more. In global market there are a lot many Nanocosmeceuticals based products exist. Especially, Nanogels are three dimensional polymer network systems and they  provides favorable characteristics to formulate, incorporate & fabricate hydrophilic as well as hydrophobic formulations which are required in many cosmeceuticals products. Nanogels can easily replace the conventional cosmeceuticals due to substantial amount of benefit which it provide such as their stimuli responsive behavior, pH responsive mechanism of drug release, small particle size, high water imbibing capacity , tremendous bio compatibility. The various applications of the nanogels in cosmeceuticals has been discussed in this review along with the general properties of the nanogel.

Needs of Nanotechnology in Global Scenario of Cosmeceuticals

with Iqra Zai, Deepshikha, Neha Raina
10/1/2019

The desire to keep up a vernal image combined with the rising world market with income has driven the event of  many new industries. The cosmeceutical business relies on the event and selling of merchandise that lie between cosmetics and prescription drugs. Nanotechnology manifests the progression in the arena of research and development, by increasing the efficacy of the product through the delivery of innovative solutions. The Cosmeceuticals area unit thought to be the quickest growing phase of the non-public care business and therefore the use has up drastically over the years. Nanocosmeceuticals used for skin, hair, nail, and lip care, for conditions like wrinkles, photoaging, hyperpigmentation, dandruff, and hair damage, have come into widespread use. This review also explains the huge contribution of herbal drugs to the global market. Nowadays plant-based cosmetics or cosmeceuticals are widely used in various skin problems in addition to their cosmetic effects, enhance antibacterial, antifungal, anti-carcinogenic, and anti-inflammatory biological actions. This review, based on engineering science which employed in cosmeceuticals, that highlights the assorted novel carriers, which are used for the delivery of cosmeceuticals and their positive-negative aspects too. It also emphasizes about marketed formulations and regulations of Nanocosmeceuticals.

Comparative Study of Regulatory Requirement of Cosmetics in INDIA to USA and EU

with Deepshikha, Iqra Zai, Azmi Khan
10/1/2019

A cosmetic product should be a complete package of all excellent properties comprising of proper safety, efficacy, potency with potential marketing efforts. These characteristics are only possible when we have a good regulatory structure, scheme and organization that can continuously regulate and update the cosmetic products. There are many regulatory bodies doing work efficiently. These bodies provide us with strict regulations which help us in guiding Manufacturing, Importing, Packaging, Labeling and other aspects of trade in cosmetic industry. In USA and EU, it is not easy to produce a product in the market, as one has to fulfill the safety requirements as per the recent regulations. In India, we have Drugs and Cosmetic Act (D &C) and Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), following which we formulate a product for consumer needs. The cosmetic market is at its peak and can be observed to be at highest in upcoming years. The skin care market is amongst the largest growing as compare to other segments like deodorants, hair care and many more. This review helps in knowing the regulations in cosmetic industry and also the marketing scenario.
