The inflammation is a complex process, which is frequently associated with pain and involves several events. Anti-inflammatory compounds can act on many steps of pathophysiological process by blocking the biosynthesis of proinflammatory mediators; by direct interaction with a key enzyme or by decreasing enzyme expression. The pomegranate, (Punica granatum L.)  has been used extensively in the folk medicine for a number of therapeutic purposes.
